Peggy the Three-legged Triumphant Goat

Peggy the Three Legged Goat Takes the Maibock

Here’s a big shout out to Peggy the three-legged goat who is the 2011 champion of Sly Fox Brewery’s annual goat race.  This annual race takes place at the pub, which is located just outside of Philadelphia, PA, on the first Sunday in May.  While other goats were falling over and getting distracted, Peggy blew through to take the glory (See the video).  Even better, Peggy is a rescue goat that was sponsored by Weyerbacher.  After Peggy’s win, she had the annual Maibock named after her.  You go Peggy!  Sounds like the makings of a Hollywood feel-good movie.

Cheers beers!

That’s awesome! Let’s hope AB/Inbev doesn’t get word of this or next year we’ll be drinking a Sly Fox Maibock named after a genetically engineered corporate super goat called “Bud Lite”.

Hey Wookie, The crowd would probably pounce ‘im like they did the Giant’s fan who tried to drag Dax – the previous two-time champ across the finish line. If it ever makes ESPN, then we might have a problem. This isn’t far from you guys – an event for next year’s calendar!

We will definitely have to put this on the calendar for next year. It’s a shame they only have sheep on my parents’ farm (no jokes please). If they had a goat I would enter the race.
